M&W Lumber is a hardwood timber harvesting company with a mill based out of Homerville, Ohio. Established in 1999, the business is co-owned by Gerald Miller and Al Weaver. We cut and provide lumber from the timber we harvest to local and statewide distributors. Along with harvesting standing timber, M&W Lumber also provides custom sawing services and debarked slab wood.
What is Hardwood Timber?
Hardwoods include dicot species of trees such as oak, maple, and walnut. Evergreens or conifer trees, such as pines or cedar, are classified as softwoods. Examples of acceptable standing hardwood timber that M&W Lumber is seeking are listed below.

TIMBER HARVESTING
M&W Lumber buys standing hardwood timber in Ohio and is seeking sellers throughout the year. The process begins with an evaluation of your property and timber. Once an offer has been agreed upon, M&W Lumber will proceed to harvest your timber. Following that, M&W Lumber will come through and reclaim the property which includes a cleanup of the designated area.
The Timber Harvesting Process
M&W Lumber works in a professional manner when dealing with timber harvesting. The following three-step process allows M&W Lumber to collect standing timber from your property and restore the area following completion of the service.
Free Evaluation & Quote
M&W Lumber will visit your property and evaluate the site where we will come in to manage your timber. From there, we will put together a quote and make an offer for your trees.
Harvesting the Timber
Once the offer has been accepted, M&W Lumber will proceed in scheduling a timeframe to harvest the trees agreed upon. We will be responsible for the selecting, harvesting, and cutting process.
Reclaiming
After the trees have been harvested, M&W Lumber will come through and reclaim the property. This includes cleanup of the staging area and any paths created by the equipment.
Quote & Payment
Sellers can expect a down payment before the contract is signed and full payment before the first tree is harvested.

DEBARKED SLAB WOOD
Looking for firewood? You can debarked slab wood at M&W Lumber. Debarked slab wood produces less ash than other types of firewood. M&W Lumber also ensures all pieces are cut to a uniform size. Please contact us for availability.
